*Many search Operators can be combined to further narrow Search Results!*

Currencies

Use Google to find currency conversions.
example: 9.69 USD in GBP
(returns the conversion "9.69 US dollars = 6.2255 British pounds sterling")

File Types


filetype:

Use "filetype:" after your search term and followed by a file extension to confine your results to that file type.
example: star wars filetype:doc
(returns web pages that contain the words "star wars" and
whose address (url) contains the file extension "doc")

Grammatical


AND or +

Use the "AND" or the "+" to join words\phrases.
example: apple+cake
(returns web pages that contain both the words "apple" and "cake")

OR or |

Use the "OR" or the "|" to find two or more words or phrases.
example: apple OR cake
(returns web pages that contain either "apple" or "cake")

- (minus)

Use the "-" to find results without certain words or phrases.
example: soxs -white -black
(returns web pages that contain "soxs" without those that also contain "white" or "black")

" " (quotes)

Use " " to find results with the exact words or phrase in quotes.
example: "apple shampoo" smells really good
(returns web pages with the exact phrase "apple shampoo" and
that also contain any of the words smells, really or good)

( )

Use the "( )" to find results with the exact words\phrase in parentheses and synonyms for all others.
example: (apple shampoo) smells really good
(returns web sites with the exact phrase "apple shampoo" and
that also contain synonyms for smells, really & good)

* (asterisk)

Use the "*" to find wild-cards within certain words\phrases.
example: big * cow
(returns web pages with all possible variations of the phrase or words
- i.e.:"big fat cow", "big black cow" & etc.)

.. (two periods)

Use ".." to denote "through" within certain words\phrases.
example: red soxs "1912".."1914"
(returns web pages that contain "red soxs" and
any or all the dates 1912, 1913 & 1914)
…remember to use the Quotes around the Dates to return
those exact Numbers and not a combination there-of.

define:

Use "define:" followed by word or phrase to find its definition.
example: define:beryllium
(returns the definition for "beryllium" and its synonyms)

Math

Use Google to solve common math problems.
example: 1/8=
(returns various information on "1/8",
such as "conversions" and other information depending on the operators used.
Mathematical Operators: + = addition, - = subtraction, * = multiplication,
/ = division, ↑ = exponential, % = percent)

Movies


movies:

Use "movies:" followed by a movie title to find results on that movie.
examples: movies:star wars
(returns web pages with the words "star", "wars" and "movie", also,
if the movie is currently playing it will return show times and places)

Music


Albums

Use an "album name" as your search term to find results on that album.
example: Dark Side Of The Moon
(returns web pages with various information on "Dark Side Of The Moon",
if the album name is a common word such as "Animals"
it is necessary to precede it with a "song title" or an "artist name")

Artists

Use an "artist name" as your search term to find results on that artist.
example: Pink Floyd
(returns web pages with various information on "Pink Floyd",
if the artist name is a common word such as "Phoenix" it is
necessary to precede it with a "song title" or the word "band")

A Song or Lyrics

Use a "Song Title or the Song Lyrics" as your search term to find results on the song, lyrics and artist.
example: You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
(returns web pages with various information on "Pigs",
if the song title is a common word such as "Pigs" it maybe
necessary to precede it with a "band name" or the word "lyrics")

Sports

Use Google to find sport scores and schedules.
example: Boston Red Sox
(returns the latest score, next game and various web pages for "Boston Red Sox")

Time

Use Google to find the time.
examples: time in Boston
(returns the "time" in Boston, Massachusetts)
time  (local time)
sunset  (local sunset time)
sunrise  (local sunrise time)

Weather

Use Google to find weather conditions.
example: weather Boston
(returns the current weather conditions for "Boston, MA" and
various links to weather related web pages)

Web Sites

allintext:

Use "allintext:" followed by a word\phrase to find results with the exact word\phrase in the text (body).
example: allintext:dog day afternoon
(returns web pages that contain the exact phrase "dog day afternoon" in
the text (only) of web pages)

allinurl:

Use "allinurl:" followed by a word\phrase to find the exact word\phrase in a web address (url).
example: allinurl:computer
(returns web pages whose web address contains the exact word "computer")

cache:

Use "cache:" followed by a web address (url) to view the cached web page.
example: cache:tkcomputerservice.com
(returns Google's cached version of "tkcomputerservice.com")

info:

Use "info:" followed by a web address (url) to find information on that web page\site.
example: info:tkcomputerservice.com
(returns links to Google's information on "tkcomputerservice.com" such as "cache", "similar to", "link to" & etc.)

intext:

Use "intext:" followed by a word\phrase to find results in the text (body).
example: intext:dog day afternoon
(returns web pages that contain the words "dog", "day", "afternoon" and any synonyms in the text (only) of a web page)

intitle:

Use "intitle:" followed by a word\phrase to find results in a web page title.
example: intitle:car
(returns web pages whose title contains the word "car" and any synonyms)

inurl:

Use "inurl:" followed by a word\phrase to find that word\phrase in a web address (url).
example: inurl:tkcomputerservice
(returns web pages whose address (url) contain the words "computer", "service" and any synonyms)

link:

Use "link:" followed by any web address (url) to view the links to that web page\site.
example: link:tkcomputerservice.com
(returns web pages that have hyperlinks to "tkcomputerservice.com")

related:

Use "related:" followed by a web address (url) to find web pages that are similar to that web address (url).
example: related:tkcomputerservice.com
(returns web pages that have anything in common with "tkcomputerservice.com")

site:

Use "site:" after your search term and followed by a web address (url) to confine your results within that page\site.
example: eMail settings site:tkcomputerservice.com
(returns web pages within "tkcomputerservice.com" that contain the words "eMail" and "settings")
